Mio is an achingly trendy hotel in the heart of Buenos Aires. The door to the entrance is fashioned from oak wine barrels. Large metal butterflies are one feature of the hotel's striking decor. Mio has an avant-garde quality. Their indoor heated pool is one of the most beautiful and luxurious in the city. This hotel takes design seriously: the tree trunk bathtubs and wine-barrel doors created by Argentinian artist Mario Dasso are very striking and no two are the same! Bathing in one is truly an experience. Mio is in Recoleta, so Contramano is a 5-minute walk down the road and Flux Bar is also a local popular gay hangout.

Faena is one of our few hotels in Puerto Madero, an area that has undergone massive regeneration and now plays hosts to many sky rises and shiny restaurants. The hotel itself is great; the 90 rooms are decorated in a classic style with a quirky modern twist, and facilities are extensive and state-of-the-art. There's a fine dining restaurant, huge gym, relaxing spa and stunning outdoor pool (pictured). Faena is a great choice in terms of location for gay travelers. Pride Café is just over the bridge, and Puerto Madero is well connected to other areas of the city.

A very grand hotel - just what you'd expect from the Four Seasons Hotel group. It's in the most affluent district of the city. Patio Bullrich is nearby with its luxury boutiques. An equine theme influences the design, reflecting Argentina's love of horses. Don't worry, it's tastefully done. The hotel's spa offers a range of treatments including wine massage, and also a pummeling backrub that's done to the beat of Tango music - quite an experience. The rooms are exquisite, from the statement headboards to the blue mosaic tiles in the bathrooms.

Alvear Palace is one of the most luxurious hotels you can stay at in Buenos Aires. It is probably the most iconic hotel in the city. Opened in 1932, it embodies the grandeur of Buenos Aires' golden years. The decor is suitably over the top. The design is of the rooms is worthy of a royal palace. Expect chandeliers, gold quilts and white marble bathrooms. If you opt for one of the more upscale rooms you'll have your own butler. You'll be staying in northern Recoleta, so there's lots of gay nightlife destinations within walking distance in the barrio. There's also plenty to do during the daytime in and around the area.

Loi Suites is located in the Recoleta district, the cultural heart of Buenos Aires. The restaurants and bars of Junin street are just a block away. Entering the lobby you'll be met with white marble, palms and chic, minimalist furnishings. You can wine and dine in the hotel's glass house. The white, minimalist theme continues in the rooms, all of which are spacious and decked out with marble bathrooms. The location is great as you're a 10-minute walk to Plaza Francia and bars like Contramano and Zoom are just around the corner.

This hotel is another one of Buenos Aires' gems, and one of the best in the Recoleta district. This district is great for gay travelers and tourists; there are local attractions like the infamous Recoleta Cemetery and gay nightlife venues such as Contramano down the road. Esplendor's 49 elegant rooms have been recently refurbished, and there are also many facilities on site. The building has a restored neo-Renaissance facade and cutting edge interiors. It's right next to the Galerías Pacífico shopping area.  

Be Hollywood is a chic and colourful 4* hotel. A centrepiece of the hotel is the rooftop pool which offers panoramic views of the Buenos Aires skyline. It's one of the most vibrant hotels in the city. The name derives from the cinema and television scene in the Palermo Soho area. The 38 rooms have been recently refurbished. The hotel is surrounded by LGBT nightlife.

Ilum Experience Home is a popular boutique hotel in Palermo Soho, a great area for gay travelers. The popular lesbian party Fiesta Jolie and gay bar Peuteo are within 5 minutes' walk. Our favorite part of this hotel is the incredible rooftop spa, pictured above. The decor is light and airy with some Buddhist and minimalist touches. There's also a 24h concierge desk, fine dining onsite, and a beautiful cocktail lounge.

Palo Santo Hotel is one of the most fashionable and chic hotels in Buenos Aires, we loved their mix of clean wood, lush greenery and contemporary industrial chic. There's a rooftop infinity pool and terrace, coffee bar and fine dining restaurant. It is the first sustainable urban hotel in Latin America, according to LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) guidelines. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Many come with private balconies. Some of the larger suites have the dimensions of a private apartment. Around the hotel there's a lot to see and there's some gay nightlife spots a short journey away.

The Icaro Suites are located in San Nicolás, but also have great access to the culture and gay nightlife that Recoleta has to offer like Glam and km ZERO. Palacio Barollo, Parliament and the Obelisk are within walking distance. Onsite you can find a gym, rooftop terrace, and a sauna. WiFi access is complimentary. The rooms are comfortable, large and offer excellent value for money.

Sissi Haz is a rustic boutique hotel in the bohemian Palermo Soho district. It only has 5 rooms, so it's ideal if you're looking for somewhere intimate and homely. There are many attractions surrounding the hotel. Gay bar Peuteo is a 5-minute walk to the north and you also have Sitges and Amerika down the road to the south. It's one of the most popular Latin American hotels on Travel Gay.

This 3-star hotel in the middle of the city is a great choice for gay travelers. Facon Grande is located in San Nicolás barrio, one of the busiest regions in the city and home to Flux Bar. Onsite there's a restaurant in which you can enjoy a meal after a long day, they also serve breakfast in the morning. Each of the 27 rooms have a comfortable and clean ambience, with wall art bringing pops of colour.
